Returning from the doctor's appointment where I discussed my CT scan results, I couldn't shake off the disappointment of not receiving any concrete answers for the persistent pains in my gut and GI tract and crazy weight gain. As I arrived home, I found my mom waiting to accompany my dad to his own doctor's appointment. Instantly, my stomach tightened, and the familiar discomfort resurfaced. It dawned on me that the stress of the situation was exacerbated by physical symptoms. I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed with frustration as I pondered why my mom constantly aids my dad in his medical matters, despite his stubbornness and disregard for his own health. The disparity between her willingness to assist him and his unwillingness to reciprocate when I needed help only added to my distress.
