Bye
I went into my last scheduled shift at SeaWorld today, with only one day left of the Christmas Celebration. Funny enough, I’m not scheduled for the final day—apparently, they’ve reserved that for the original coordinators. Go figure. It’s just Lupe and me holding down the fort now since Summer hasn’t shown up in weeks, and the others quit ages ago. At the end of the night, I decided to ask Kim, my boss, if I’d be on the schedule next week. She turned bright red and awkwardly said, ‘You’re seasonal.’ Translation: Lupe was right, and we’re done. Honestly, it could’ve been handled so much better, but that’s SeaWorld for you—where the drama doesn’t take a day off, even when the job does.
