Yesterday, I joined my mom at my sister's for dinner, expecting pasta but ending up with the bean soup I made days earlier. Gabe's mom, after a 10-day visit, was leaving town. During our stay, the kids ate something different, creating chaos with nonstop screaming in the other room. Just before dinner, I decided to pick up my medication from CVS and felt ready to leave. I told my mom it was time to go, but my sister asked her to stay and play with Archie for half an hour, a peculiar decision given Gabe's mom was preparing to leave for the airport. It seemed more sensible for my mom to let the other grandma have a moment to say goodbye instead of engaging in playtime while she was leaving. I found it odd and somewhat rude.
