Name

I am so glad I changed my last name 30 years ago. In case you didn't know, Austin is not the family name I was given at birth. Changing my name was a deliberate decision, one that allowed me to distance myself from the side of the family that bears my original name. I want nothing to do with them, as the association brings back memories and connections that I have chosen to leave behind. Embracing the name Austin has given me the freedom to build my own identity and create a life unburdened by the past.
