Bad People

Tonight I went to my sister's house for dinner. Afterward, I was talking with my brother-in-law while he was sharpening his knives (not for cooking). We talked about TV shows and movies, and I mentioned the show "Ratched" and how it shows bad treatments in the past, like lobotomies, where people were forced into hospitals by their families. "That wasn't so long ago," I said. Then, he told me that bad things like that still happen today. My sister joined in, making ice cream sandwiches and saying that electrotherapy is still used. The conversation took a somber turn, with Gabe expressing his disillusionment with the world and its less-than-kind inhabitants. "People are not that nice," he said. I agreed with him.
