Boat Parade

Last night, as we geared up for the San Diego boat light show, we congregated at my sister's place. Borrowing her neighbor's car to accommodate everyone, the atmosphere was chaotic, and it seemed like everyone was in a bad mood. Driving with Gabe, I found myself in the front seat, demanded by a five-year-old to adjust it for more legroom. Cramped and disoriented, we arrived, and the valet parking attempt left us separated. Eventually, Gabe and I located the correct restaurant, securing a fantastic table for the boat viewing. The catch? We had to each order $50 worth of food, resulting in a $300 meal, but it was delicious and abundant, complete with ice cream cookie sandwiches. Despite the initial chaos, we had a great time under the moonlight as the boats passed by, and the kids were super happy. I couldn't help but feel relieved that my father wasn't invited, but I know a similar situation awaits me soon with Christmas approaching, and I don't want it to be another Thanksgiving; the thought makes my blood boil.
