The Into the Woods songs are stuck in my head from last week. I was thinking about the finale and how important it is to consider the results of our actions and words. Kind of like Don Miguel Ruiz’s The Four Agreements #1 rule Be Impeccable With Your Word.  What we say has a big impact on our values and behavior. I was thinking about the  line, "Wishes come true, not free,"  and how it shows that to achieve our dreams we have to give something up. Like my mom constantly says “We all have choices,”  but do we?

Careful before you say

"Listen to me."

Children will listen

Careful the wish you make

Wishes are children

Careful the path they take

Wishes come true

Not free

Careful the spell you cast

Not just on children

Sometimes the spell may last

Past what you can see

And turn against you…
