Gilmore Girls

So, here’s the thing—I somehow completely missed Gilmore Girls when it first aired, but now, 25 years later on Netflix, I’m deep into season 5 and absolutely hooked. There’s something so timeless about the show—the wit, the charm, the relationships—it all still feels relevant. I do have to laugh, though, at the early 2000s moments when the internet is just becoming a thing, like when people are still discovering email and chatrooms. What I love most, though, is the simplicity of life in Stars Hollow. It reminds me a bit of San Luis Obispo when I was a kid—this cozy little bubble where everyone knows each other, life revolves around small-town traditions, and the drama is personal, not digital. Watching a world where the biggest concern is whether Taylor’s latest idea will annoy the town feels so comforting and makes me nostalgic for a simpler time.
