Group

Yesterday, I attended a new group meeting about being your best self, and it was a refreshing change from the trauma group I've been in for what feels like a lifetime. Maybe it was the vibe of the room or the fact that they had better snacks—either way, I liked it. The people there were surprisingly supportive. One guy even had the audacity to suggest he didn't know why I was there because I'm so smart. Flattery will get you everywhere, buddy!  His comment actually made me feel good, almost like I was getting a gold star in therapy class. But let's be real, despite all the positive reinforcement, deep down I still feel like I've been dealt a bad hand and I'm plotting my escape, armed with newfound self-improvement tips and possibly a ninja outfit.
