My Father Was An Asshole: The Book

Well I could most likely write an entire book on “My Father Was An Asshole” Good title… He was very manipulative, controlling. Do as I say not as I do. You do it his way or watch out. And I mean watch out cause he'll cut you out. He often says "It's your world, I'm just in it." but that is NOT the case.

There are different kinds of bad. Some bad Dad’s can be managed, but it’s draining and tough. There is often a Trauma bond or a sense of duty/loyalty towards a parent especially when they are dying. But, this has not been good for my well-being. So, I cut him out of my life. This is hard. . As I said, there is a bad Dad who doesn’t want commitments or responsibilities, there are violent and abusive Dad’s, they could have addictions or be involved in crime, or Narcissistic… and so on. When he started effecting my mental and physical health (I gained a ton of weight) continued to play with my emotions (not helping me co-sign), mind games, and more, it’s was best to keep ahead of the game and move to the garage.

I must be firm! I can no longer be a caretaker or in an uncomfortable position, whereby I become caught in the Spiders web. Some people can change, he cannot !
