It finally happened - my mom arranged for a nurse to take care of my dad after tending to his needs for over 2 years. It's honestly been nothing short of a miracle, given that my dad still doesn't even address her by name since their divorce over 40 years ago. He's had nothing good to say about her until she became necessary for his care, dismissing everyone else who tried to help him. He pays no attention to his failing health or the people around him. Two years ago, I tried to arrange the same thing, desperate to escape the unhealthy situation I was forced into, caring for him when he refused to support me in finding my own place due to my poor credit. Less than four months after I left, the last time I spoke to him, he moved into a senior living facility, less than three years after his move to California. It's a sad situation all around. Let's see how long it last! PS This is NOT the actual nurse.
