Secrets
Last night at La Jolla Playhouse, I caught Deracho with my sister and Gabe. The show was intriguing, but the ending really hit home for me. It revealed how one sister had essentially ruined her sibling's life by calling the police on her and her friend. She claimed it was out of concern, but she took no responsibility and kept it a secret for years until it came out at a party. Her self-centeredness and disregard for her sister's suffering struck a chord with me. It made me reflect on my own experience—how my intervention had a devastating impact on me, yet it seemed like nobody truly cared about the fallout or the effects on my life. Instead, I was blamed for it all. Afterward we went to Denny’s where I should have asked my sister some questions that linger in my mind but as always I do NOT!
