Selfie
Creating this self-portrait was a deeply personal experience for me. It may seem a bit narcissistic, but all artists do self-portraits. Inspired by the Shawn Mendes album cover, I envisioned myself ripped into pieces, yet with something beautiful, like flowers, growing from the fractures. This imagery captured my feelings of being broken but also hopeful and resilient. I chose to make the artwork giant because, at that time, I felt so small and overwhelmed. By enlarging the piece, I wanted to assert my presence and find a sense of empowerment through the act of creation.
