Shut Up
I'm gearing up for a long-awaited reunion with my friend Melissa, whom I haven't seen in two years since she rescued me in Arizona. After locking in my flight plans, she excitedly texted me about finally getting to meet Crew, her one-year-old son, before he heads off to college (well, kindergarten). I playfully replied, "Shut up," prompting her to respond with a meme retort, "No, you shut up." Keeping the banter going, I sent back a "Zips Lips" meme, to which she jokingly remarked, "Yeah right. As if you have ever," accompanied by a smiling face emoji. I replied with a chuckle, "That's all I do now," which, in all honesty, isn't far from the truth. Besides therapy sessions and a recent four-day visit to Sheila's, where I finally opened up, I've mostly kept to myself lately—except for sharing snippets of my life here, where I'm pretty much just talking to myself.
