Sleep

I can’t seem to sleep anymore. I used to sleep for hours on end, but now I'm lucky if I can sleep for more than four hours. I wake up over and over again, feeling restless, and my mind races with thoughts that refuse to let me be. I've tried everything melatonin, pink noise, sleeping pills, but nothing seems to work. The more I try to sleep, the more elusive it becomes. I lay tossing and turning in my bed until around 4 or 5AM when I inevitably give up and decide to get out of bed. Then, I turn on the television and try to come up with a plan for my day. Typically, I create a list of tasks to complete, but by mid-afternoon I'm too exhausted to continue and find myself wishing I could take a nap. This pattern keeps repeating itself and it's driving me crazy.
