Used to Be Young

This morning, on my drive to work, Miley Cyrus’ "Used to Be Young" came on the radio. It’s one of those songs that hits you right in the feels and makes you think about your life—the choices you’ve made, the wild times, and how much you’ve grown.

As I listened to the lyrics, “I know I used to be crazy, that’s ’cause I used to be young,” I couldn’t help but tear up. It brought me back to a time when life was chaotic and unpredictable, but also so full of passion and energy.

I’ve come a long way since then, but this song reminded me that it’s okay to embrace who I used to be, even with all the flaws and mistakes. The line, “I know I used to be wild, I say I used to be young,” really hit home. It made me realize how much my past—both the highs and the lows—has shaped the person I am today.

Hearing those words felt like Miley was telling my own story. And for a few minutes this morning, I just let myself feel it all—the nostalgia, the gratitude, and even a little sadness for the parts of me no longer there.
