What I learned today

Here's what I learned at therapy yesterday: Many  individuals with trauma histories, the issue at hand is not simply their locus of control. It is literally that control has been stripped from them and as part of their survival, they have accepted a reality in which they do not have control because when they try to exert control, it makes things worse (sometimes), which can feed into learned helplessness.
